About Us
Memory Care Home Solutions exists to extend and improve quality time at home for families caring for a loved one with memory loss, dementia, or Alzheimer’s disease. This mission is achieved through operation of three programs: Customized Caregiver Training & In-home Consultation, Education & Outreach, and Geriatric Care Counseling.
Customized Caregiver Training is the primary direct service program, which is designed to reduce caregiver stress, promote the functioning ability of the person with dementia and reduce healthcare costs. The program provides in-home assessment and personalized caregiver training that reduces stress for caregivers and allows loved ones with severe memory impairment to remain at home with children and grandchild, for as long as possible with the best quality of life possible.
The Education & Outreach Program offers awareness Free Interactive Caregiver Workshops, presentations and seminars for community, business and civic groups that want to learn more about the options of elder care and our Mission. The Geriatric Care Counseling program provides on-demand, short–term telephone counseling and referrals for clients and the general public who are facing immediate elder-care crisis regarding memory impairment, or who need guidance in securing community services.
Lisa Baron, Executive Director, founded Memory Care Home Solutions in 2002, as a not-for-profit organization to fill an in-home support and training void for caregivers of people suffering from dementia as a consequence of the onset of Alzheimer’s disease. While caring for her mother-in-law with Alzheimer’s disease and simultaneously serving as General Counsel and Director of Development of Parc Provence, the largest dementia care facility in St. Louis, Ms. Baron, along with a stellar Advisory Council, identified this unmet need in the healthcare community and developed an organization to address it. |
